Sep 23, 2016 12:38 PM in response to David Bedfordby iLiketo,Same issue, when using ios9 with iPhone 6s, mail app permitted "delete all" option
in Junk mail. Made it quick and efficient way to rid this nuisance stuff. Now, ios10 has
dropped the "delete all" option in Junk mail. NOT GOOD!!! I use Outlook(Hotmail). I found
by deleting the Outlook Mail account and recreating using Hotmail as the account, the issue
is resolved. Same email account, same emails, just not registered as Outlook. Go figure????

Sep 26, 2016 11:37 AM in response to David Bedfordby OldGuy1955,I have a Hotmail account. When I added it to iOS 10, I used the outlook.com link in Settings/Mail/Accounts/Add Account to add it. In doing so, even though I entered my hotmail address, it stored it as my Outlook address and I had the same problem.
If you add your account using the "Other" link, it should work. I can now empty my Junk Folder using Edit/Delete All.
The downside to this is it only added my mail account. I went back in and added the Outlook Link and then turned off mail, leaving only calendar, contacts, and notes. May not be an ideal solution but it seems to work.
I think the problem may be with the new format for Outlook. I wish these companies would quit fixing something that isn't broke!

Sep 26, 2016 11:45 AM in response to OldGuy1955by David Bedford,Its the sent folder which does not have delete all. Once in junk or trash (rubbish) as I'm a Brit!, then Apple can trust us! What I don't understand is that if we could delete all in sent it would jits end up in Trash giving us one last chance to revowe before finally saying good-bye.

Sep 26, 2016 12:15 PM in response to David Bedfordby larryincmh,David,
I totally agree and this signifies you as an intelligent user!! It seems, however, that as with many things in this day and age the companies have to dumb down things to the least common denominator and that seems to be people who have no concept of the word "all", or find it too daunting to actually have to think when using the software, so they take things away to idiot-proof them. So, those of us with a tad bit of sense are left to scratch our heads and wonder about the fate of humanity!!!!

Oct 3, 2016 12:36 PM in response to mariotheplumberby shawnfromboulder creek,Interesting, I replied to this post, but my reply evaporated into the void.
THanks apple for making this so reliable.

Oct 4, 2016 12:27 PM in response to David Bedfordby kbmnj,Do we have an answer to this yet? Junk file in iOS 10 has no "delete all" or "trash all" function available. This is nuts! How ridiculous to have to individually delete hundreds of pieces of junk every day ...

Oct 4, 2016 1:11 PM in response to kbmnjby David Bedford,There is a delete all for junk and trash mail folders..it's delete all in the sent folder I was asking about.

Oct 4, 2016 1:23 PM in response to David Bedfordby Donb1360,I've been using the super secrete trick described as an answer to this earlier and it works great. This should work in any folder, including the inbox. Once you are sure you don't want to keep any of them:
1) Go to edit and mark all as read
2) Go back to edit, select only the top message
3) While holding down the "Move" option without releasing it, un-check the first item so none are checked
4) That will take you to your folders so you can pick which folder to move them to, select trash and boom, done.
I like this better because the previous "Delete All" option was broken anyway. It would delete all, and then on many occasions, they all came back like a zombie that you just can't kill!!!

Oct 4, 2016 1:34 PM in response to David Bedfordby iLiketo,Sorry but that is not accurate. It appears to depend of which email service you
use. When I register my account as Outlook, there is NO delete all for Junk Mail.
When I register my email account via Other and use Hotmail id there is a delete all
option for junk mail. I previously wrote about this. Oddity is either case I'm using
same email address. Anyway, fact is there is not always a delete all option!

Oct 4, 2016 1:46 PM in response to Donb1360by iLiketo,Certainly not questioning your workaround. Just kind of ridiculous to have to
go to thru this contortion to accomplish what was always/previously simple
option. Thanks for the suggestion though, still feel this MUST be insisted upon.

Oct 4, 2016 1:49 PM in response to iLiketoby Donb1360,Thanks for pointing that out. I use Pop mail service that downloads to my pc via outlook. When I check email on my iPhone, it's mostly to review stuff and perhaps reply to important items, and nothing gets removed from my server until I download it to Outlook. So, I usually like to keep the inbox clean and when the delete all option was gone, I couldn't believe it, because I waited so long to finally have the option!! Now, it's gone again. I love the method mentioned above and I am very thankful someone figured it out. So, I wanted to share but should have qualified.

Oct 4, 2016 1:56 PM in response to Donb1360by kbmnj,Thank you for this! A bit convoluted, but certainly easier than what Apple has left us with - manually selecting each piece of junk mail!

Oct 4, 2016 2:29 PM in response to kbmnjby Donb1360,Your welcome. However, Apple should have a delete all option in every folder that actually works!! Come on Apple, do you really think we can select each of 350 emails or more to delete them? Really bad.
