Sep 23, 2016 12:07 PM in response to sskkooommaaby wacarro,I absolutely hate this. I also don't need a screen full of "recently added" titles, as I already KNOW what I've recently added. Terrible update.

Sep 25, 2016 2:05 PM in response to sskkooommaaby Computer Arts,It is an incredibly clumsy design. Did they even test this with real users?

Sep 29, 2016 10:50 AM in response to sskkooommaaby jespinoza,Completely agree. This is a step backwards. We have not yet migrated to Family Share so all music all of us download are all on my iTunes account. I downloaded only song's for my younger son on his iPad and iTouch but now he is able to see and listed to any song downloaded under our account.
In iOS 9 there is a switch in the Music Setting to "Only Show Downloaded Music" but I like the idea someone posted above if Apple doesn't want to go that route and instead replace the "Downloaded Music" playlist with a "Purchased Music" playlist and always default to only show and play only music downloaded on the particular iOS device.
Almost make me want to go dig out my old MP3 player from the unused electronics box and use that for my younger son.

Oct 3, 2016 4:07 PM in response to sskkooommaaby Jason Horton,I just did a chat with Apple about this issue. The technician suggested restoring from a backup, but I don't see how that would help since the option isn't in iOS 10 to begin with. I asked him to make a suggestion to put it back but I'm sure there won't be any kind of follow up.

Oct 4, 2016 10:01 AM in response to PunkRockDocby sylaramee,I had the same type of unwanted content. I did a click and hold on the album, and chose "Delete from Library." It then states "Delete Purchased Album, This album will also be deleted from all your devices. You can restore purchases in iTunes by going to your Account Information page." Click "Delete Album" and it's gone. Hope this helps. Worked for me.

Oct 4, 2016 1:11 PM in response to sskkooommaaby Schwilj,The update has made Music so much harder to navigate. There should be a toggle in settings to disable cloud music entirely. Not all users have unlimited data to stream from the cloud and may just want what is locally downloaded to their phone.

Oct 7, 2016 7:03 AM in response to sskkooommaaby Etherabard,Just adding my voice to the thread here. Really annoying how this is handled in iOS 10 vs previous iOS versions. I agree with others on this thread, show us what we've synced and bring back the toggle switch which was there in earlier iOS versions. Allow us at least to make the choice ourselves.

Oct 7, 2016 8:17 PM in response to sskkooommaaby rowlandvilletexas,I am new to the iPhone. Sixteen months since I switched from Android. I got it to play CD quality music via iTunes while I'm in the car. But Apple is pushing too many of my buttons: no headphone jack; Siri, which is damned near useless compared to Google Now; and weird quirks like this which appear to have no reasoning other than to generate new income streams for Apple. So I have started experimenting with Spotify and its sound quality, and I've found that it's intuitive, has decent sound quality (for the car), and is possibly a decent replacement for Apple Music. That said, I have a Mac and Airport Express and would like to stay in the Apple ecosystem. But the Google Pixel is presenting me with a tempting option: A personal assistant that isn't an idiot, music that may just be "good enough," and the self-respect to escape a company that treats me like a ten-year old who's being "educated" in what is right for him.
Dunno.

Oct 8, 2016 3:06 PM in response to grporcaroby collier,Isn't this exactly how it was in the last version? A link/button to "show only music on my phone"? That was perfectly fine, and you only had to click it once, ever, for iTunes to behave as expected and show only songs/albums you actually had on the device. I DON'T want to see my entire library, which is 10x bigger than what I keep synced -- it's a huge pain to scroll through, and doubly so now that two thirds of the artist icons are Pastel Rainbow Microphone. Plus, it's not even showing the whole library (e.g. it lists ten artists starting with A, though my phone sync only has 6 and my full library has twenty-four). And even if it did show my completely library, for anyone who doesn't have unlimited data on their service plan, or who lives in a place with a lot of neighborhoods where service is sh*tty or nonexistent, expecting to stream all your music is NOT A VIABLE OPTION.
Also, limiting to "Downloaded Music" does indeed get you "showing only music on this phone" -- but it also only displays "recently added" items . . . which is only about a third of what's actually on the device.
This is a small thing, seemingly, but in practice it's a massive annoyance. I LIVE with my phone's music, and making it this hard to access is absolute garbage. I'm way overdue for an upgrade, and for the first time in ten years I'm actually considering leaving the entire Apple ecosystem behind.

Oct 8, 2016 3:21 PM in response to sskkooommaaby Wtmock,You have to select "Downloaded Music"every time you open the app. This is garbage. This is ridiculous. What was apple thinking?! Fix it.
Previously, it was a setting that the phone remembered. This is awful.

Oct 8, 2016 3:42 PM in response to Wtmockby collier,And on my phone, selecting "Downloaded music" shows me sixty albums -- yet there's 2-3 times that many actually on the phone. So my choices are "see every single thing in your iTunes library, even if you don't want it and didn't sync it to your phone and will have to stream it (good luck with that) and enjoy scrolling through 150 Pastel Rainbow Microphone icons trying to find what you want" -- OR, "only see the few dozen most recent purchases that are synced to the phone."
Has anyone actually from Apple responded to this? I've spent the last two hours poking around online looking for answers, going all through the phone's Music options, the Settings, everything, and I can't make this Not Suck. Like, I am so angry and frustrated I actually dug a 12-year-old iPod with a scroll wheel out of a box of dead electronics to see if it still works.

Oct 10, 2016 9:38 AM in response to trevnoby Zonker in Russia,I agree that the lack of a toggle for "Show Downloaded Music" is annoying, but I don't understand why you are taking so many steps. With the info from your post, I learned about the "Downloaded" link. Clicking that got me:
Playlists
Artists
Albums
Songs
Instead of Music>Downloaded>Artist>Choose Artist>Album>Song, why can't you just do Music>Downloaded>Song
Also, if it's one song, how about Siri?

Oct 10, 2016 9:41 AM in response to GaborTorby Zonker in Russia, what is random? I think they are in order by Artist name, no?
