Q: Siri not working on Macbook Pro?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It seems like you want to use Siri on your MacBook Pro running macOS Sierra but Siri appears not to hear you speak.
I would recommend you read these articles, the first one provides you with the location of the setting you will want to verify and how to check if it is a mic issue since there are two places you assign the mic input. Sound preferences and in Siri preferences.
Change Siri settings
Go to System Preferences and click Siri. Or you can just ask Siri to open Siri Preferences.
In Siri Preferences, you can:
- Turn Siri on or off
- Change the language or dialect that Siri expects you to use
- Change the gender and dialect of the voice that Siri uses when speaking to you
- Turn off voice feedback so that Siri shows results silently
Get help
- Siri on Mac requires macOS Sierra.You can also use Siri on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, Apple Watch, and Apple TV.
- If Siri can't connect to the network or asks you to try again in a little while, check your Internet connection.
- If Siri appears not to hear you speak, check your microphone selection in Siri preferences. If necessary, test with a different microphone, such as the microphone in your Apple Earphones.
- If Siri appears to hear you but not understand you, make sure that your language and dialect is selected in Siri preferences.

If Siri still having trouble responding after that we can test it in a new user to see if it is a profile issue or if it is system wide.

Siri appears to be working now. Here's what I did...
- I unplugged my OWC dock from my MacBook, and unplugged all accessory cables from my OWC dock.
- I then plugged in my OWC dock to my MacBook (no accessories plugged into OWC dock).
- Siri worked.
- I then proceeded to plug each accessory into the OWC dock, and tested Siri after each step.
- Siri would stop working after plugging in a certain accessory.
- Each time Siri stopped working I started over (back to step 1).
- After the third time (or so) of Siri not working after a certain point, I turned Siri off and on again via System Preferences.
- After doing this, Siri has now been working consistently.
I don't know if the key was unplugging/plugging in the dock/accessories, or if the solution was turning Siri on/off (I had previously tried turning Siri on/off but it didn't fix it).
I've shut-down and restarted several times now and Siri continues to work without any interaction from me.
