Q: iPhone 7 shipping?

Has anyone else received a shipping notification for their iPhone 7?  I order a 7 and 7 Plus as soon as the store opened last Friday.  Both say they will arrive on Friday via standard shipping but both also say Preparing for Shipment.  Making me wonder...

TMO has been showing the same thing since Monday. My hunch is that they are going to drop ton of phones on UPS or Fedex overnight with delivery on Friday.

My strong advice to all folks in this position is:

    Don't worry about it!!

I also ordered within 10 minutes of the online store opening, I was told it would be delivered on Sept. 16, and my status is still "Preparing for Shipment".  However, as someone familiar with the goings-on at UPS, I was able to track my iPhone and discovered the following:

So don't worry, you'll all get your iPhones whenever Apple promised them, and they will change to "Shipped" state once they get close to release to continue movement from the shipper.

I received a shipping notification on 9/13 but just saw that the phone will not be delivered today due to weather in Japan on 9/14. Seems a bit farfetched to me as the package arrived in Alaska yesterday but was sent to KY instead of WA from there. It's very disappointing when you make the effort to preorder early to get the phone on the release date but then that does not happen. I would have expected Apple to leave some buffer for small problems in shipping!

All UPS shipments for the US route through Louisville before heading anywhere else. Anchorage is used for refueling and customs clearance for UPS.

Since they're coming from overseas they will spend more time in preparation for shipping, in customs and be subject to whatever else is necessary to keep production off U.S. soil and keep production standards the best they can possible be because as Tim Cook pointed out in his December 2015 60 Minutes interview on CBS the overseas workers "have more skill than American Workers"

That does explain the reason it went to KY, it still is disappointing that they are not going to uphold their commitment to deliver the phone on 9/16.

    I pre-ordered 7+ through Verizon Online Sept 10th.

I was initially notified shipping would be October 12th. October 3rd I received notice It would be here October 5th.

I am happy it will arrive early.
