Q: iPhone 7 animation lag...

Just picked up my iPhone 7 32GB.. Noticed a lagg when opening and closing a app for the first time.

When i press the home button and open the app again all goes smooth..
Already talked to Apple support, they suggested to restore to factory with IOS 10.0.1 and not to restore any backups.
Just did that, still lagg...  Bit disappointment, my iPhone 6 was smoother..

Anybody else this issue? Must be! Check it out really good, I think this is gonne be reported alot!

Good news! I was nearly selling my 7 and getting an S7 edge . When is the final version likely to be rolled out to everyone from experience? Or how do I get developer access to get the beta's?

This new beta changed nothing for me. Can confirm that it is not a fix for everyone.

TL:DR the animation is much smoother in 10.1 beta 2, but is not as smooth as phones with a physical home button

i recommend downloading beta 2 if you want to get rid of stutter when leaving an app.

just updated to beta 2 from 10.0.1 on my iphone 7 plus. seems like the stutter is smoothed out.  there still an different animation compared past iphones. i think it has something to do with the force touch home button vs the physical button.

when you press once. the app starts to close instantly, but it does it slowly then after a few milliseconds, it speeds up and gets back to the home screen smooth and quick.

when on any phone other than the 7 or 7 plus, the animation does not start slow then picks up speed. its just one solid speed transition from app to homescreen.

if you have a iphone 7 or 7 plus and have a past device (6s 6 5s) open an app on both phones, then close them at the same time and you should see what im talking about. if not try getting a third device and film your self closing a app with 240 fps slow mo recording. you'll defently see what im talking about

ill try talking a video side by side over the weekend when i meet up with my bud. he has a iphone 6 plus so i can show it versus my 7 plus and show what im talking about.

I know it's a pain but just restore from new phone to 10.0.1

its worth it. The animation to home screen is incredibly fast compared to what I've been dealing with since launch day

I kinda agree with you. On my device you can tell the difference when closing a app directly after you open it (then its smooth) But when a app is open for more then a few seconds it laggs a bit when closing. Its definitely better in IOS 10.1 beta 2, you see that they have done something with is, but its not completly sorted..

yeah its still there and kinda annoying but its much better than how it was before beta 2

i still wish it was on past force touch home button devices

I just finished installing public beta 2 of 10.1 and the animation lag is still present just not nearly as pronounced. I know this is something that will continue to get worked on but I would be lying if I didn't feel like my phone reacted like an Android phone now and my 6S was super smooth under 10.

Oh well.. early adopters of new tech always have initial hurdles, yet I prefer the new haptic button to the old click home button.

can someone please redo their iPhone 7 plus as new phone and a not back up and reassure that its' not just me that the animation lag disappeared for?

I'm pretty sure that's what the main issue is as nothing else solved it except for that!

I can also confirm 10.1 beta 2 is a lot smoother than iOS 10 and iOS 10.1 beta 1. Worth the upgrade! Hopefully beta 3 and/or Goldmaster will be perfect!

HI Ajtafinder! Do you confirm that is 'smoother' than iOS 10.0.1? Or is totally solved?? I can't understand how Apple can release 7 or 8  BETAS of iOS 10, and even so, have this type of things... As always, I never stopped beliecing in Apple.
