Oct 2, 2016 3:45 PM in response to RonRdRcrby becky_s22,Hi RonRdRcr,
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities! After reading your post, I see that you're having some problems playing audio through your car speakers with your iPhone 6s connected via USB. I know how vital it is to have that music up and running in your car, and I'm glad to help.
Take a look at the following steps we recommend for this issue:
If you're using USB Playback
- Restart your iOS device and your car.
- Connect your iOS device to a different stereo USB port (if you have one).
- Try a different USB cable.
- Update your iOS device.
- Install any firmware updates for your car stereo.
- Try playing audio from a different app. If you can't play audio from a specific third-party app, contact the app developer for help. If you can't play audio from an Apple app, contact Apple Support.

Oct 4, 2016 10:36 PM in response to becky_s22by MayaMutt,That reply is not helpful. The cable and vehicle are the same as prior to the update. Rebooting is fruitless. The iOS update has broken something with the USB communication to vehicle systems. Seeing reports of the issue on multiple car brands. Mine is a Nissan and failing just as described here.

Oct 6, 2016 8:32 AM in response to becky_s22by undecided about spots,Hi becky_s22,
i have the same problem with my car stereo in combination with iOS 10 and my iPhone 5s. The iphone is connected correctly, my car firmware is up-to-date and the radio is controlling the iphone as expected, meaning: I can start and stop the music and change the song but the sound is not transfered to the car stereo instead it plays on the iphone speakers. I tested this with the same setup and iOS 9 and it works great. I would assume it is a bug which was introduced with iOS 10, perhaps as an sideeffect of the carplay improvements.
Is there any useful tip or timeline when this will be fixed ?
Thanks in advance

Oct 6, 2016 8:37 AM in response to MayaMuttby MayaMutt,UPDATE: I did yet another reboot of my iPhone (5S) and now the USB function is back to normal. This wasn't the first reboot I did, so I don't know why it suddenly began working. I'll see if it lasts.
