Oct 3, 2016 10:41 AM in response to Billy78GRby ~psigmon~,I have the same issue on my iphone 6S plus. I performed a factory reset and restored via icloud and the issue persists. I don't want to start over from scratch at this point; hopefully we'll hear of a solution. This is impacting my ability to perform my job...

Oct 4, 2016 3:09 PM in response to Billy78GRby bndesforges,I had this problem for the past two weeks as well. Went to an Apple Store and they told me it was software related and that my hardware was working fine. I wanted to make sure since it was a new phone that I bought one week before.
I just found a quick fix for this, it seems that if you toggle your bluetooth antenna ON and try to connect to an audio output (for me it is my living room soundbar) then disconnect or toggle your bluetooth OFF, it corrects the problem. At least for a while.

Oct 4, 2016 3:55 PM in response to ghepardoby CHIPPE,A workaround for the call issue is to put the call on speaker phone then take it off. If your having other issues with sound, like no sound playing music, go to SETTINGS and go to the sound settings. Side the volume bar back and up again - you'll hear your ringtone. Sound will be restored.

Oct 4, 2016 11:41 PM in response to Billy78GRby Apostolos Triskogiannis,Same problem, I also had my technical support to check if this is a hardware issue and they assured me that it is definitely a bug in IOS 10, perhaps the most annoying one. Is Apple going to show a little bit of respect to its users and resolve the issue? We 've had enough of hearing instructions to reset the settings and clean the dust out of the ear speaker.

Oct 5, 2016 6:11 AM in response to Conrad84by calabiyau007,Same here.
No problem in a year with ios9. In a week with ios 10, it has happened twice. No sound through earpods!!!
I can fix easily phone calls with the speaker on/off but then music is not playing anymore. I have to reboot then.
Next time I'll try to slide volume controls as suggested so that I can avoid this reboot.
Anyway, a little big mess...
Regards
PS: ios 10.0.2 from a full reset + itunes restore
PS2: Calling with iphone 6s is becoming a challenge. Apart from this earpod issue, there is also a bug related to the camera (iphone 6s camera lag). If you call a lot, then camera gets frozen for some seconds (up to 20). Definitely dialer needs some work.

Oct 5, 2016 11:40 PM in response to Billy78GRby Mren101,I have the same issue. IOS 10.0.2. Phone is useless in combination with headset. I have reset, erased, nullified, restored. Doesn't fix the problem. Need to toggle speakerphone in order to get audio / mic in headset to work during calls. The bug is in all apps using audio (phone, facetime, podcasts, Spotify, ...). Phone is pretty much useless after the update. Apple, please fix fast, don't make me buy a phone with a burning battery just to get basic phone functionality

Oct 6, 2016 9:19 AM in response to Billy78GRby Donlakyounomoah,MY iPhone 6 is less than one month old. I updated to iOS 10.0.2 and now I cannot speak to anyone unless I am on speaker. The headphones don't work with regular sound either, I used them for the very first time today, just took them out of their box and the problem persists. Ergo, Dust and dirt is not the problem. I cannot be on speakerphone for every call, not practical for every day use. Also having problems with selecting a word and trying to change it for either spelling or capitalization and I have to physically type the word over again.
Since updating, dictation is not working as well either. Dictation forgets to capitalize some words at the beginning of a sentence, or it capitalizes words after commas, or will capitalize random words such as the word dictionary, Which it capitalized several times as I was dictating, and now notice the word Which is capitalized after a comma.
I just did a reboot of the iPhone it seems to be working now, cross your fingers.
