Q: Tiny font using mail in iOS 10

After updating to iOS10, the font in the body of emails is really small, too small to read.  I have to zoom in, but then I have to scroll left and right to read each line.  Anyone else have this problem?

That's unfortunate it didn't work for you.  Just a heads up.  I have two email accounts on my phone (my work and personal).  The work account is an exchange account it worked on that one on the first try.  I had to try it a couple of times on the personal (gmail) account.  I say this because you might want to try this again.

I updated my phone with 10.0.2 yesterday (skipping over any other 10's). Had the tiny email font problem reported here. But as suggested by the discussion here, I used the on/off button to turn off the phone. After restarting the phone, font size was correct. Problem fixed!

Having this issue as well.  Tried all the mentioned fixes here to no avail.  I even tried deleting the email account and resetting it back up.  I hope apple fixes this soon along with the sync issues and notification issues.   A droid may be in my future soon.

This was the solution for me. (close email, turn off Complete-Thread, re-open mail and fixed). I turned the setting back on and email is still back to normal.

Ive tried very one of the suggestions and nothing has worked. I even called apple support and they basically said I'm outta luck. It's just the way it was on some phones. Not happy about it or I never would have done the update!

I had the same problem, but it was fixed when I responded to the prompt to "update carrier settings".

I'm on the phone with Apple Care as we speak, and I'm hearing that it IS a known issue, and Apple Engineers are currently working on a fix, or at least a work-around for this. They escalated the case to Tier 2, who gathered a few emails, and information about the system on my device.

I have tried every single fix that was suggested but nothing worked.  I called up apple support when the update first came out and I first had this problem.  They said that they would follow up with me but nothing.  I guess that there was nothing to report.

Today I learned a new way to Force Quit an app... this is not the same as double-tapping the Home button and flicking the app up and off the screen. I tried that and it did nothing. This technique, however, solved my tiny font problem:

    • Open Mail. Gaze at tiny fonts. Smile.
    • Press and hold the Lock button (upper right corner of the iPhone). Wait for "slide to power off" to appear. Don't power off!
    • Press and hold the Home button (the belly-button). Keep holding it... after several seconds, the screen should clear to white, and shortly thereafter you'll be at the Home screen.
    • Launch Mail.

I hope this works for you -- it worked for me today.

This suggestion does not work. Fonts are still tiny and small.

I would love to delete this OS if I can.

    Very disappointed.

This issue is not just about the size of fonts in email.

I increased the font size in settings, but the font size in messages is still small. In the old version if you increase font size in settings the font in messages is larger too.

There is no connection whatsoever between the font size in email nor messages with the setting in OS 10.

    Shame!
