Q: When do you have to update to ios 10?

I assume everyone will eventually have to update to ios 10...but does anyone know when this might be? I'm going overseas at the end of the month (Oct) and really don't want to mess with this until I return, but I certainly don't want it to make me do it while I'm gone either.

You can wait until you return. There's no rush.

You don't ever have to update if you don't want to. At some point, you might have trouble updating apps that matter to you but you can certainly wait.

I'm not sure what you mean by "this mess". Most people's updates go without a hitch. I did manage to mess mine up by accidentally (don't ask) turing off my iPhone in the middle. I had to restore from my back up from the night before but it really didn't take that long. By all means, wait if you wish but don't be scared off by the lists of problems you see here. Almost no one comes to the forum and says "My update went great! Buh-bye!".

    Have a great trip!

You're welcome. When you do update, make sure to backup your data beforehand just in case.

Thanks for your response! I actually didn't say "this mess", I said I didn't want to "mess with it", meaning any potential problems, etc. while overseas. I do seem to hear lots of complaints about it so far, though it could just be change in general and getting used to something new. Seems like in the past I've been forced to update because my phone starts acting up, so I assumed that meant the update was going to be unavoidable at some point. Thanks again, glad to know I can likely wait until I return.

Got it! Yeah, what you see here is the complaints. Enjoy your trip. Update when you want and we'll be here if anything goes wrong (and back up your phone before you go away!).
