Q: iOS10 WiFi Keeps forgetting hidden network

I am on iPhone 5S iOS version 10.0.1 on T-Mobile network. At my work place we have hidden wifi network. It was working fine. But after my upgrade to iOS 10, the phone keeps forgetting the hidden network every time it goes another wifi network (say at home). My other colleagues who has iPhone 6 or 6s does not have any issues. Any help is appreciated.

iPhone 5s, iOS 10

Hi Brendan - the issue is not resolved yet. For me it worked 2 day and again it is back . I got another email asking about Wifi Router details. Kindly note that this is office network and i dont have the wifi router details. My phone model is ME328LL/A. Please look into this bug introduced by iOS10

    Hello,

i have the same problem with my iPhone 5s. After updating to iOS 10, my hidden SSID WLAN isn't automatically connect with my phone. I allways have to go to wifi Settings and type manualy the SSID and password to connect.

The wifi stays connect and reconnect on it's self, until my phone connects with another known visible wlan.

I too have this issue on my 5c and my home network since upgrading to iOS 10.  Tried everything suggested in this thread to no avail, issue still returned after a while. In doing a search on this topic it appears Apple is taking the stance that hidding your SSID doesn't help to keep your network secure (see discussion here: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/244171/ios-10-warning-using-a-hidden-ne twork-can-expose-personally-identifiable…).  Thus the only apparent solution at this point is to start broadcasting your SSID or return to iOS 9 where it wasn't an issue.  Not what I really wanted to hear.

I use wifi from home and no where else.  I turn wifi off on the phone when I leave the house.  I can walk the dog down the street and back and will have to enter SSID and password again.

The notion that hidden ssid is less secure is bogus.  I don't want others to know of my network.  If Apple actually believes that, then why do they let you enter a hidden SSID.  No this is a bug and it should be corrected to previous iOS 9.x operation.

I've tried everything including the steps you mentioned above.  I went as far as Restoring my IPhone5s to factory using ITunes.  I then used a backup I made a few hours earlier.

The problem has not gone away.  I must enter all the info again to reconnect to my Home Hidden WiFi, click "other",  enter the SSID, select WPA2 and then enter the password what a PITA.   The other solution was to set my router to broadcast the SSID which I had to do because I was tired of finding my IPhone not connected to my home network while at home and using LTE data.

I don't want to upgrade (and believe me after your IOS10 snafu I thought about upgrading) I like the size of my IPhone5s any bigger and I may as well have a IPad Mini for a phone.

    Please fix this problem!

    Gary

Give it to me I'll test the heck out of it.  The Bluetooth was giving me problems to but the restore seems to have resolved that.

    Thanks

Same problem using iPad mini 2. IOS 10.0.2.

No problem when using my 5s. The problem came with iOS 10.

Hippen networks are recovered. Even worse, the password is not accepted. It says pw incorrect.

Don't think Apple is taking this seriously.  We have hundreds of users in our companies, and only the Apple iPhone users have this issues and our corporate network, the Android users are problem free.

Maybe our company(s) should change all of our iPhone users to Android, as every single day since the IOS update we have this issue with support and iPhones needing IT to setup or corporate (hidden) network afresh.

Same issue here, again on 5s. Workarounds don't work at all.

This issue has got considerably worse in the last few days, I'm having to reset the Wifi every hour or so.  I hope 10.1 fixes this.
