Q: iOS 10 Remove airplay and airdrop from control center.

The airplay and airdrop buttons take up too much space in the control center. This space would be more useful if it was the music app. I do not currently have any use for airplay or air drop and would really like to be able to hide these buttons.

    iOS 10

    Why?

In iOS 10 swipe the Control Centre left and you have the whole control centre for Music.

mainly because of how much space those buttons are taking up. Since these are not something I intend on using it does. It make sense to have them in an area that is for quick accessing of frequently used apps.

Im happy with where he current music thing is. However if anything it would make more sense to have the music controls on the first page instead of having to swipe.

    Apple apparently disagrees.

Which is fine. But for something like that quick access control center, would it not make sense for users to decide for themselves which options are or are not there?

What makes sense to you may not make sense to million others.

As always, you can send feedback to Apple by following the link in Meg's post.

I don't see an issue here. You just need to swipe once for Music.

Next time when you use the control centre again the Music is still there without swiping.

The music app functionality is not my issue here. I like the way it is currently implemented.

My question is if it is possible to hide the airplay and airdrop buttons.

Or better yet, if we will ever be granted the ability to customize the priority that the buttons show up on this control center.

    Ok.

No. FWIW I like it as it is.

Tell Apple using the feedback link.

If there're millions of request, Apple may change it?

I am not intending on being confusing. I've just re-read the order that the posts have been posted. It seems I may of been typing my reply as other messages were coming in.

It is probably wishful thinking that the ability to customize this control center had already been implemented. We can control what the top widget displays to make it useful for the end users. Hopefully this control center will one day be customizable too. We are all different and prefer things differently. If we were given the ability to choose for ourselves would that not make everyone happy?

I have submitted my feed back as recommended. Thank you all for the replies.

That has never really been the way Apple does things.

I really like the new Control Center set up.

This is the reason I was reluctant to get me an iPhone in the first place. When I now do have iPhone, I find that in most cases, the way Apple has made it is intuitive and user friendly, but there are things like this that still annoys me that is not able to hide away. I have no AirPlay supported media devices, and have never used AirDrop (I have had the iPhone for 3 years now...)

A related thing is the pre-installed apps. This is now finally possible to remove in iOS10, which is great.

As I understand it, they're not actually removed, just hidden. But, as long as it makes people happy....
