Oct 6, 2016 4:14 AM in response to Dirty Li'l Monkeyby Ptaxey,Apple states that iTunes 12.1.3 is the latest version of iTunes supported for Windows XP and Vista.
It is the latest possible update for your OS.

Oct 6, 2016 4:56 AM in response to Ptaxeyby Dirty Li'l Monkey,Thanks for that, I had a vague suspicion that my old workhorse was getting a bit too long in the tooth!
In an effort to embrace the future, as far as that is possible with Windows, I have invested in some more modern kit, a gaming laptop running "Windows 10 Home" build 1607, and a self build NUC kit running "Windows 10 Pro" also, build 1607.
Presumably these two machines would be capable of running the latest version (12.5.1).
If that is so, can I install iTunes on either or both of these new machines whilst continuing to use ver. 12.1.3.6 on my Vista PC?

Oct 6, 2016 5:21 AM in response to Ptaxeyby Dirty Li'l Monkey,That's good news, but would my iPad and iPod be recognised by all the various installs of iTunes on these machines or would one of them have to be designated as the main account somehow?

Oct 6, 2016 5:49 AM in response to Dirty Li'l Monkeyby Ptaxey,All iTunes versions should recognize your iPad and iPod without problems, but you will have different iTunes libraries on each computer. So it would be more convenient if you sync your devices to one computer (IMHO). Or you can use Home Sharing to have the same contents on all devices.

See Make a split library portable first if you've moved the media folder out to an external drive. Deauthorize the old computer when you've established the new copy of the library is working properly.
