Sep 28, 2016 12:01 PM in response to Zoro64by polro7,Hi,
I have this problem too! I have already upgraded my iPhone 6 to iOS 10 but I will downgrade it to iOS 9.3 because of the rating the music issue.
View: http://www.imore.com/how-to-downgrade-ios10-your-iphone-or-ipad
I hope that apple will include this again for the next upgrade of iOS 10. Otherwise, no more upgrades for me...
So, PLEASE, apple, include it again!!
Thanks.

Sep 28, 2016 2:53 PM in response to Zoro64by Yost,I want star ratings back in the Music app. I heavily rely on it and rate my music while listening on the road.
Please bring it back.
PS. Why doesn't this forum have a responsive design that adapts to smaller screen sizes? Did the developers of this forum never hear about a device called iPhone???

Oct 1, 2016 9:50 AM in response to Zoro64by avnyc11,I miss this feature too. I sent feedback to Apple so fingers crossed they add back the ability to 5 start rate songs on iOS without Siri

Oct 2, 2016 3:58 PM in response to Zoro64by JonRosevilleCA,This is a huge deal to me. I really work the star system to get the exact music I prefer. I would actually consider moving from iTunes over this and thats saying a lot considering iTunes is not that good.

Oct 3, 2016 5:55 AM in response to Zoro64by Yost,I learned that many third party music apps in the Store can access the music content on the iPhone. So I installed the Ecoute music app and now I'm able to rate my songs again. Next to Ecoute you could also use Cesium or a number of other apps that still support the 5-star scoring model. I just picked one that looked okay and was cheap.
Note that some free music players have in-app purchases to remove ads, which can be more expensive than paying before downloading.

Oct 3, 2016 8:39 AM in response to Zoro64by dandepeched,Guys, I've been searching for some replacement and have found free app that can rate songs with stars - Rating Player (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rating-player/id1080770934?mt=8)
I have test it and it works similar to widget - you can play your songs in default Music app, and when you need to rate some song, then just open Rating Player and you will see current song playing. Also it has some basic controls so you can use it as your main player.
Your ratings will also appear in iTunes after sync.
This app was a relief for me, so I hope someone will find it helpfull too.

Oct 3, 2016 10:33 AM in response to Zoro64by PaulNeedsANewAlias,Ugh, stars are the primary way I organize music into playlists too.
Dear Apple, when you introduce a new version of your software, it'd be great if you told me what features I depend on that you removed because you decided they weren't important anymore.

Oct 4, 2016 10:07 AM in response to Zoro64by bigsbiker,Is this going to be fixed? I have the same problem. I've been using the star rating since iTunes first had the rating system and I could use it on my original iPod. Years of work on creating smart playlists based off of ratings will be lost. Any actual help from Apple on a response to this?

Oct 4, 2016 10:48 AM in response to Zoro64by n808n808,I really dislike Apple's decision to force the Love/Dislike system onto everyone as well. I use the rating system for smart playlists and to keep track of new music I have not yet listened to. It sadly is a 100% conscious decision from Apple. I have purchased the Ecoute player and hope to avoid having to run Apple's Music player, but I think it may start up by default in my car. The "Music Rating Widget" also works.
EDIT: I think I really like "Music Rating Widget" - it allows rating while phone is locked. So I don't have to unlock every time a new unrated song comes up and I want to rate it.

Oct 6, 2016 11:36 AM in response to polro7by StuartR1962,I'll be downgrading too, and moving to Samsung if this isnt sorted by the time my Iphone contract ends in November. So sick of Apple doing these things I may go anyway.
