Sep 25, 2016 9:21 AM in response to Mike Walker1by elliotfromcroton on hudson,Having the same problem...scary and does not in any way appear to be "normal" behavior. Didn't happen when updating iOS on my iPad via wifi.

Sep 26, 2016 2:45 PM in response to Mike Walker1by lesterw,Brand new iPhone 7... backed up up my iPhone 6s. Restored it to the iPhone 7. All apps came up as "waiting...". Upgraded to 10.0.2 via cable, part way through, the iPhone 7 went into "attempting data recovery". Progress bar took about 2 hours to complete but it then came up is 10.0.2. All of my apps are still in a "waiting..." state.

Sep 27, 2016 7:14 PM in response to Mike Walker1by drakedwads,I have had this problem when I went from 10.0.0 to 10.0.1 and from 10.0.1 to 10.0.2 on the new iPhone 7 Plus using windows 10 and ITunes 12.5.1.21.
My question is how any people are having this problem.
Is this problem/issue or a new process for the iPhone 7 iPhones?
Is this problem with the Plus version only or for both versions?

Sep 27, 2016 7:31 PM in response to Tario70by sallenmd,Some kind of Apple software bug. Happened to me upgrading from 10.0.0 to 10.0.1 and from 10.0.1 to 10.0.2. No data loss, but quite a bit of wasted time. Interestingly, since I upgraded iTunes for Windows to the latest version (12.5.1.21), it crashes every time I try to close it. On multiple computers, both Win 8.1 and Win 10. I have serious doubts about the competence of Apple's programmers and especially their software QA people.

Sep 28, 2016 12:39 AM in response to drakedwadsby The Hardy Hamster,In reply to drakedwards...
I had the issue with standard iPhone7 (not plus), so appears to affect both plus and non-plus models.
I can't believe this is part of the new process because Apple usually put so much effort into the consumer experience and this is definitely not what you expect from them.

Oct 1, 2016 1:10 PM in response to didifromdubaiby drakedwads,Please check you old/new passcodes.. You must enter the correct one in. To my understanding it trying to verify you and your data with the passcode. But I could be wrong.

Oct 6, 2016 9:07 PM in response to Mike Walker1by blutopaz01,This happened on my brand new 7 Plus. I restored this from an iphone 6 backup on a windows 10 machine using the current itunes version 12.xx
my phone did the same thing to me tonight updating via itunes on this computer - annoying and scary.. especially AFTER it crashed earlier tonight while taking an indoor picture in low light.. I'm sick to my stomach that my $969 phone is acting this way.. I'll go back to my 6 or get a 6 Plus, because this is crazy

Oct 6, 2016 10:02 PM in response to blutopaz01by sallenmd,You will find that the problem is with iOS 10, not with your iPhone 7. If you do not want this to happen with your older iPhone, do not upgrade to iOS 10.

Oct 6, 2016 10:04 PM in response to drakedwadsby sallenmd,THis has nothing to do with passcodes and everything to do with a risk of data corruption by the iOS 10 update process.

Oct 11, 2016 9:58 PM in response to Mike Walker1by m3senbrink,I have the same issue upgrading from IOS 10.0.1 to 10.0.2. For thew past few hours I have been trying to get it to work but every time it finishes "attempting data recovery" it says it fails. I have been looking all over to try and fix it but I can't seem to fix it. It is happening with the iPhone 7 and I don't know what to do.
