Q: iMessages Hacked!

Apple I'm So Upset Right Now!

My iMessages were hacked very early! I woke up to the following email:

Dear,

Your Apple ID was used to sign in to iMessage on an iMac 27" named “iMac11,3”.

Date and Time: September 18, 2016, 12:03 AM PDT

Operating System: OS X 10.8.4

If the information above looks familiar, you can disregard this email.

If you have not recently signed in to an iMac 27" with your Apple ID and believe someone may have accessed your account, go to Apple ID (https://appleid.apple.com) and change your password as soon as possible.

The hacker sent a cramp load of text messages back-to-back to various numbers associated in Beijing, China. I went in immediately, changed all my passwords and reset my iPhone and Macbook.

This is not a settling feeling to know this just happened, Apple!!! What are you guys doing over there? We're paying a crap load of money to stay safe, and I can't even depend on my iMessages staying private without some low life sending text from my iMessages to People in China!!

Same thing happened to me just now same name of device who used my imessages. Attached here is the messages they sent to different chinese phone numbers!

ICloud has very weak encryption since ios10!

No, iMessage encryption hasn't changed. Your iCloud ID was hacked, probably because you had a weak password, or you used the same password that you used with Yahoo, which was massively hacked. Change your password.

There is no solution but to change the password according to the apple representative. poor support. poor security. Poor ios10.

It has zero to do with iOS 10. It has zero to do with Apple's security. It has everything to do with the user's failure to secure their account adequately. Apple has the best security in the industry, but it is up to the user to take advantage of the tools Apple provides.
