You need to use the mains or buy a portable power pack to charge ipad.

Hi. A few other users have this problem, see iPad no longer charges from Computer after update to iOS 10. For now, the solution is to use the Apple charger and cable.

How did you come up with this?

Operating System doesn't normally determine if a device can be charged, and it did charge fine, slowly but sufficiently, in IOS 9. Backward step for Apple.

Mine, doesn't charge at all.

Same here. iPhone charges on 3rd party cable & charger, iPad doesn't. Both charged with iOS9. Thanks a lot, Apple. Great bug testing. NOT.
