Q: Sleep Thunderbolt Display

I Have been having issues with the Thunderbolt display not awakening from sleep since upgrading to Sierra. The only way to awaken the display is to power the display down and repower  unplug the display from my Macbook Pro and plug display back in. Was working fine before upgrade. Display has the latest firware update.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011), iOS 10

Similar problem here. DELL U2713H connected thru Belkin thunderbolt dock, and it gets no signal after sleep. The only way to get it working is reboot. Problem appeared after upgrading to Sierra.

I have this problem too  though I can awake the display without a reboot just by by unplugging from the thunderbolt port and replugging.   My macbook air is connected to two LG flatron w2343t monitors, one via the thunderbolt 2 port with an Apple Displayport to DVI Adapter and the other monitor though a DisplayLink Cable Matters Superspeed USB 3.0 to HDMI/DVI adapter.   the problem only occurs for the thunderbolt adapter and only since upgrading to sierra.

An extra note about my display problems since the upgrade to Sierra.

Another problem is that I often - as in will always happen after a few hours or less of use - is that in my thunderbolt connected display - the app windows  start to flicker when refreshed as if they are paging - sometimes I can even see the desktop behind the windows when just scrolling or moving the window slightly.  I notice that even the dock (I have it on the left side) shows the same behaviour when a window is moved around if it is near the dock. I have noticed this with Google Chrome, Android Studio and android emulators and even Apples  own Preview app.  Meanwhile in the USB3 connected display an app window might  appear all black and need to refresh to display its contents - this happens often when I drag a browser window from one external display to another with the window on the USB3 display taking much longer to refresh itself than a window dragged to the thunderbolt display.  I tried to take some screenshots of this but the screenshots do not capture the blackness I see on my screen.

Another oddity is that sometimes my MacBook Air's display does not awake after sleep mode even when my two external displays seem to work ok.  To get it to come on I need to close the MacBook  (I guess this puts it in closed-clam mode) and then when I reopen the display works.

Should I repost this issue elsewhere? as it is getting a little long and I don't want to hijack the thread.  If so where?

BTW, my MacBook Air is a 13-inch early 2015 model according to the About this Mac app, however I bought it in May of this year (2016) and it came standard with 8GB (rather than 4GB) of 1600 MHz DDR3 ram and Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB, model A1466.
