Q: Will 'erase and sync' affect data on computer?

Hello there.

I have just purchased the iPhone 7 and restored it from a backup on my Macbook Pro. However, my phone's music is entirely deleted. I have the option to restore it off of my Macbook Pro, but the "Sync and Erase" option is unsettlingly vague. The phone has no music currently, and the Macbook has my music saved, so there are no worries about losing music from my library on the phone. However, the other computer I used to sync to has an extensive music library of over 10,000 songs. If I click "Sync and Erase", is there any risk of the old computer's library being wiped or otherwise changed?

"Sync and Erase" refers to the music on the phone, and does not alter the music on the computer.

However, one could surmise from your question that your Macbook's iTunes library is not backed up.  Please acquire an external drive or cloud storage, and back up your library.
