Q: MasOS magic trackpad now loses bluetooth connection

Updated to macOS yesterday. My magic trackpad has worked flawlessly until this afternoon. It loses the Bluetooth connection as soon as it is not in use, but re-pairs after a few seconds of trying to wake it up. Then it loses the connection again as soon as I stop using it. I unpaired/repaired it and restarted the computer with no luck. It's fully charged. Any suggestions?

In light of recent events, please know that the user ID "Killshot" was picked (years ago) because of Racquetball not guns. I wish Apple would allow you to change your user id.

I have exactly the same problem. No issues until I updated now my trackpad fails to pair and on the odd occasion I can get it to work it drops out. Also when I have moved away from the computer for some time my trackpad has dropped out. Please help

I updated to Sierra today, and wish I had read this thread prior to upgrading. My Magic Trackpad worked perfectly since I purchased it, and now loses connection and reconnects constantly. I believe Apple probably wants us to purchase the Magic Trackpad 2 to fix the issue. :-)

Don't upgrade yet. Mine is a Magic Trackpad 2 and it has been having the problem since I upgraded.

Mine is Magic Trackpad 2 and it won't work without being connected with cable since updating El Capitan, so maybe not just a Sierra problem!?

I'm now finding that even with the lightning cable connected, the Magic Trackpad 2 occasionally has to be woken up.
