Q: (Mid 2010) Mac mini External Speakers+Sierra
Hello Guys,
I am wondering about this new system. Ever since I downloaded it my external speakers have not been working. I have Aiwa Front 180 System speakers. I have tried plugging into the headphone or internal speakers and nothing happens. The speakers still work b/c I hear static, and I tried plugging them into themselves and I got a loud tone. So my best guess is that Siri has messed up compatibility for this older model Mac. So what gives Sierra, I like Audio so much that I would downgrade, however there is no El Capitan download any longer.

Double-check your Sound settings in System Preferences. They might have been eset to defaults. Often just toggling Off and On the output selections will "wake" the system.
You you can also try a Safe Boot if the above doesn't help.
------
Restart in Safe Boot mode by holding down the Shift key at startup. Safe Boot is quite slow because the OS performs some cleanup and verification tasks, so give it time. After you're completely logged in, restart normally.
