Q: Can I watch movies purchased on my Apple TV on my iPad?

Can I watch movies Purchased on my Apple TV, on my iPad while others are using the TV and/or the Apple TV?

iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 10.0.1

How do I access my Apple TV purchased movies from the iPad?

 

Assuming you are using the same Apple ID on both the Apple TV and iPad for purchases,

Open the iTunes Store App on the iPad and tap on Purchased at the bottom.

 

Tap on Movies, and then on the movie you want to watch. You can tap on the cloud icon to download the movie, or on the Play (triangle button) do stream it.

 

Alternatively, if you have "Show iTunes Purchases "  turned on in Settings->Videos, you can see your purchased movies directly in the Videos App on the iPad in the Movies section.

 

They will have an iCloud icon in the bottom right corner if they are not downloaded to the iPad.

    Yes.

     

    There is no tie between the iPad and Apple TV in that respect, just start the movie as and when you want. The only issue to be aware of is whether you have enough bandwidth on your internet connection if you stream 2 or more movies at the same time.
