Q: macOS Sierra Server and iCal

Hi!

I used OSX 10.11 and its server app to sync iCal and AddressBook across multiple computers (2) and iDevices (2). This worked without problems. Now, I've updated to macOS Sierra & its server. I didn't change anything else, just opened the server app to make sure that all databases are updated and the services are running :-) Yes, they are running. But now no computer or iDevice can connect to the mac with the server app. iCal on the laptop says that it can't connect to the calendar and that I should check my internet connection. The laptop is connected to the internet.

I do have "Little Snitch" running, but there is no change if I turn it off.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Boris

    Boris,

Can you connect to the database using the Calendar app on the machine that has macOS Sierra Server installed?

No, Joe, I can't. I can't remember the error message, but it is a frequent one.

But I think I solved the problem: I have to turn OFF the firewall (via System Preference) on the machine that has macOS Server installed. Then sync calendars and address books. But if I turn the firewall on again, I can reconnect to the database from this machine AND from the iDevices. Hm, well, not a real solution but I can (somehow) work with it.
