Sep 23, 2016 7:18 AM in response to panagornby darren.s,Hi, panagorn! Thanks for joining Apple Support Communities!
It appears that after you upgraded your MacBook Pro to macOS Sierra, you connected Arduino and the Mac booted to a black screen. I'll be glad to help.
1. Try safe mode if your Mac doesn‘t finish starting up -- Safe mode makes sure your Mac is starting up right.
2. How to Reset NVRAM on your Mac -- Resetting NVRAM is indicated when there's an issue with the display.
3. Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac -- Resetting the System Management Controller makes sure everything starts up correctly.
Arduino - Contact Us -- If the above steps haven't helped, contact Arduino for help.Have a great weekend!

Sep 26, 2016 2:16 PM in response to panagornby liantony01,I think that what your problem because that was mine, if you use the driver (CH341SER_MAC 2) for Arduinos clone is not compatible with the new Mac OS and when arduino connects the system reboots, my solution was to install the mac os clean, and use original arduino

Oct 3, 2016 8:50 AM in response to panagornby Atz'cko,I have tested and every time I plug in an arduino that has ch340 or ch341 chip for usb2serial communication my mac restarts whit a screen showing "there was a problem", but any other chip based arduino or ESP8266 has no problem. Now all there is to figure out why is this particular chip a problem for the new macOS Sierra.
PS: I didin't have to install mac os clean, everything else works fine.

Oct 13, 2016 4:41 AM in response to panagornby keson,Hi, same happened to me after Sierra update last week. Small Pros Mini or Mega board OK, but one clone UNO which worked OK in Mavericks suddenly hard reboots my Mac Pro Retina 2015. Regularly, some 3 seconds after the board is plugged in either USB port or to a USB HUB. Checked different cables too. Latest IDE for Sierra loaded too. No idea how to fix this. Would be good to be able to again connect it again and use for projects
I am almost sure this is caused by the Sierra update

Oct 13, 2016 9:51 AM in response to kesonby liantony01,I have the same problem with a saw, and not only that does not recognize some printer driver, but to solve my problem by changing my Arduinos original clone, and delete the driver that is used to recognize the clone Arduinos

Oct 13, 2016 10:58 AM in response to kesonby keson,So I got an advice, which finally solved the issue. The trick is a updated driver for the clone arduino serial chipsets (if I understand it well). The proposed driver can be downloaded here: https://github.com/adrianmihalko/ch340g-ch34g-ch34x-mac-os-x-driver
And the credit goes here: http://kig.re/2014/12/31/how-to-use-arduino-nano-mini-pro-with-CH340G-on-mac-osx -yosemite.html
Good luck to everyone!
