Sep 23, 2016 8:01 PM in response to John Blanchard1by raven-eye,I'm having the same problem. Photoshop abruptly quits either when I press print in the Apple print dialog via the photoshop print dialog, and also when I use the Photoshop "print one copy" menu option.

Sep 26, 2016 9:16 AM in response to aaplannieby woodmeister50,What printer color management modes are you using? What is the file format?
If it is a PSD file, have you tried converting to TIFF and open in another app and
print from that as temp workaround (or perhaps even a max quality JPEG)?
From one of the statements that Lightroom works but Photoshop doesn't is not
surprising to me in the least. Adobe operates as if Lightroom and Photoshop are
two totally different, competing companies. This was really evident when El Capitan
was released and camera import functions did not work at all in Photoshop/Bridge
but were working just great in Lightroom, and it was months until the PS issue was fixed.
Even their solution was half baked. The two groups simply have zero communication
between them (real efficient!!).

Sep 26, 2016 9:23 AM in response to woodmeister50by saraaahh,Hello! I am using a Sawgrass SG400 printer with the power driver. Im decently tech savy, but I believe I need to print from photoshop to have my colors be rendered correctly. I print with a sublimation printer onto special paper. I have not tried printing from lightroom, but I do not have the ability to set up lightroom to use my Sawgrass printer I believe? I am using our windows desktop right now and using creative cloud to sync my documents, but it is a nightmare.

Sep 26, 2016 10:57 AM in response to aaplannieby howwow,Hi,
I just stumbled onto your post and to let you know, you are not alone, I have Photoshop CC 2015.5, upgraded to Sierra over the weekend everything seems fine until I wanted to print a few Jpeg photos just now and once I hit the print button for my Canon MG6170, PSD crashes! Tried a few times same batch of images crash! But when I tried printing my own name logo a small PNG file it was ok, it's late here now so I am not going to sort out this tonight, but definitely not Canon printer's problem 'cause I can print the same image on Preview, and I can print PDF files with pics on Preview.
Since my printing is not critical nor time sensitive, I shall wait for an update and also try the space bar.
Thanks!

Sep 26, 2016 12:02 PM in response to aaplannieby woodmeister50,I have verified the issue on my setup with just a simple gray scale
image and an HP laser printer.
Print with Photoshop CC 2015.5 = crash
Print with Lightroom CC 2015.7 = success
Tried both printer managed and Photoshop managed.
Apparently, the Photoshop people know better than the rest of the world
how to print to a printer and disregard any printer manufacturer, computer manufacturer,
or operating system guidelines. That is why something always breaks with Photoshop
with OS upgrades. They need to talk to the folks at Lightroom
on how to do drivers correctly as they almost never seem to have any
issues.

Sep 26, 2016 1:20 PM in response to aaplannieby woodmeister50,I have posted on the Adobe site as well:
You all may want to post there as well. Maybe if more post, something will get done.
Also, remember to send crash reports to both Adobe and Apple.

Sep 26, 2016 1:26 PM in response to aaplannieby JimmyCMPIT,you may need to see if CUPS has drivers, Canon does not support Sierra for that model.

FWIW, based on this page:
Printer and scanner software for macOS Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, and Mavericks - Apple Support
Shows this:
which means there is support.
Besides, it isn't just his printer, my HP Laserjet is also on the supported list.
Based on Photoshops track record, I would say the likelyhood of it being a Photoshop
issue is pretty high. They seem to think they know better about how to interface
to printers than manufacturers or OS developers (Win10 has their share of issues as well).

Oct 13, 2016 11:13 AM in response to aaplannieby dan mccoy,Same problem as others. Solved my problem by going to canon, downloading their free photoshop plug in called print studio pro. However i am using a canon printer pima pro 100. I don't know if it works on other printers but feel it might. To use the canon software one starts in Photoshop then opens the canon print studio pro found on automate.
It is a photoshop problem. Besides the canon software is far better than using only photoshop for printing.

Oct 13, 2016 3:18 PM in response to dan mccoyby aaplannie,Oh, thanks for that. I have that plug in but have never used it. Does it work with Lightroom as well? I'm still able to print after the space bar hold down thing.
