Q: Problems with "Parked Car" Feature (iOS 10 Maps)

I upgraded to iOS 10 on my iPhone 5S yesterday. I cannot get the parked car feature of maps to work.

I have the following enabled:

-All Apple Maps Notification options

-Maps Location Services (While Using). "Always" is not available as an option.

-System Services: Frequent Locations

-System Services:Routing and Traffic

-System Services:Improve Maps

My phone connects via Bluetooth to my car's handsfree system. Is it not carplay.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

I had been in a conversation with apple support about this. Then they stopped replying...

IT does not need to have CarPlay, and I tried friends car with CarPlay and still won't work. Apple support hasn't got any fresh ideas of how to fix this. it must be a bug of some type.

I thought this had to do with the Bluetooth model or brand but if it doesn't work with CarPlay enabled vehicles then there must be a bug. I would be glad to help but they may have beta testers already trying to fix this one.

I tried everything, and I got nothing. Opened a bug issue on Apple bug reporter site (https://bugreport.apple.com/)

They asked me a few questions, and now... I'm just waiting.

Its definitely an issue from Apple just not sure why they don't do something about it and address it. I had the iPhone 6 running ios10 and this feature including ETA for frequent locations as soon  as my phone would connect or disconnect to Bluetooth speaker was working perfectly. I upgraded to iPhone 7 and no longer works. Tech support is helpless and has no idea what is going on. I've tried resetting settings twice, resetting everything 3 times restoring from iCloud and from itunes both did not work. Notifications and all location service are on. Disconnected and deleted from car Bluetooth. Not sure why Apple instead of making me restore the phone 35 times actually do something and fix this bug.

The feature does not seem to work with my iPhone 6S and my 2015 VW (Bluetooth, no CarPlay). But it did work when I drove my wife's 2008 Acura.

    Weird!

making sure settings > privacy > location services > share my location > from  was set to 'this device' rather than my previous iPhone fixed this for me. When I got a new iPhone and restored from a backup of my previous phone, it kept the setting set to my old phone.

Well, I got my new iPhone 7, checked all the settings I could find in this forum but still no joy. I have VW 2015 with Discover Pro without CarPlay. So far I tried iPhone 6, 6S and 7 with the same result. I am even now on 10.1 beta 3 and it is still NOT working.

Same here.  I have an iPhone 6S, with all the location services turned on.  It works on my wife's 2015 BMW, but does not work with my 2015 Lincoln MKZ.  Oddly, I can use the Reminder Location settings of "Getting in the Car" and "Getting out of the Car" on the Lincoln (have not tried it with the BMW), both of which depend on a Bluetooth connection or disconnection.  Strange.... I'm thinking it's the Bluetooth connection with the Lincoln that needs a reset or re-pair, and not the phone or its software.

I Believe it has to do something with frequent locations...after upgrading to iOS 10 frequent locations seems to stop working. Since 4 weeks it doesn't write any locations even when all options are on and purple arrow indicates that it works. No new locations appear since updati to iOS 10. That's why maybe parked car is not working.

My Frequent Locations are working fine all the time. I tried to reset them and clear them, the new ones are appearing ok. But the Parked Car feature is not working.

    Hi,

The Battery status of my Car Receiver is still showing in Battery Widget although in Bluetooth the device is disconnected. (Car is 5 miles away)

Maybe thats why my iphone doesn't show the parked car ???

Deleting the Bluetooth profiles for my car from my iPhone (and vice versa), and re-pairing fixed this for me.  I now see Parked Car in the list of places at the top.  I'm still not getting notifications consistently, but I think that's a different issue in the Notification Settings.
