Q: Removing music apps from dock

Upgraded to OS3 on apple watch, and I noticed music app in dock.  I didn't want it, but can't get rid of it.  iPhone shows in NOT in dock, but watch has it in dock.  In trying to get rid of it, I now have 2 music apps in the dock, and I can't get rid of either one of them.  Can't swipe up to get rid of them, can't use the phone to get rid of them.

Anyone have the same issue, or know how to get them out of the dock?

I did that first. Unfortunately, that does not get rid of "now playing" from the dock. It stays there permanently (even though it doesn't show on the dock on the Apple Watch app on the iPhone). it stays on the watch dock with the "keep in dock" button. Seems to be different app than the music app.

Do you have spotfiy ? or any other music service? as it is that. 2 things, look in the top left hand corner do you see an icon? what is it mind was spotify, second try pressing play and see what music or like pod cast /radio is playing, close that app down the you find it. also if you keep it dock pressed then swipe it away to remove it. It will reappear if the app music/radio/spotify/pandora etc is open.

    I'm having this problem!!

Nothing has solved it. Reboot, hard reboot, swiping up to remove. Deleting all music. this is the only thread I've seen talking about the problem so it must not be that common.

its not listed as an app on the dock in the phone watch app. But it's always on there and if I swipe up on it let's me swipe up and click remove but then it just slides back in from the right! :/

    frustrating!

    Any other ideas?!

    Hi

It is normal for Now Playing to be shown in the Dock. The Dock shows up to 10 of your favourite apps, plus Recent and Now Playing.

It is possible to add Now Playing to the Dock as one of your permanent favourites, but not to remove it when it is shown automatically.

I had the same issue on my brand new Apple Watch Series 2.   At first I thought that Now Playing/Music was always going to be in the dock, but all it took was powering down the watch and restarting it.   It took a while to restart and reload, but when it was finished my dock was completely empty.

My concern is that unnecessarily having items open in the dock may be taking up precious battery life (although overall my battery life seems to be doing pretty well).

Regrettably, that is a temporary fix. As soon as you open any sound or music app on your iPhone it will be back
