I thought that I broke mine, clearly I have not and have just sent feedback to apple. I hope they sort it out as it is one of the best effects.

    Brilliant!

This solved the problem on our iMac G5 2.1 GHz.

A direct link to the file is nice, so here it is: http://www.apple.ru/macosx/download/package/PhotoBooth1.2RU.dmg.zip

That doesn't matter. It just works, and to me Photo Booth is still german so it still will be english for you.

Yeah, it worked like a charm. Hope when (if) Apple fixes the US version this Russian one won't present problems for us.

I have to say, it's good to have pop art again. I liked that one the best as well.

Oooh I feel bad . . . I just downloaded the QT 7.1.3 update and I get a message saying it can't install on my mini because it does not support the Mac's language I think I may have hosed the system with this Russian fix!

I have AppleCare, and I'm on hold right now, if I get a solution from Apple I will promptly post it here.

I hope no one else has this problem, I would feel bad because I was the one who mentioned the Russian Photobooth update in the first place.

    Same for me.

What did you find out from AppleCare? Seems like there should be some type of setting or flag to tell it the language is English not Russian.

Well, their advice was to archive and install, but I decided it was time for a good cleaning, so I backed up my home folders (and some non-baseline apps like Photobooth) to an external drive, zeroed out my hd, reinstalled Tiger.

Photobooth works (with Pop-Art!), QT 7.1.3 installed, iTunes 7 installed, cookies and keychains back in place, everything happy.

Hope it goes well for everyone else.

Happiness can't last forever. Of course the same happened to me. I can no longer update the system.

I will try to run the 10.4.7 Combo with the machine in target mode. If that doesn't work I'll archive and install.

Too bad Apple just can't patch Photo Booth.

Combo updater won't run, even when in target mode, and machine doesn't boot with Tiger DVD so I can't even reinstall system. :-/

When trying to boot from DVD the gray Apple turns into a prohibition sign and it stops booting.

    Now what?

Hey guys ~ it's not that bad. Your EASIEST option is to 'install and archive' using the original CD (#1) that came with your machine. I did this last night. I DID however customize my install (you can click on 'customize' before actually installing).

I unchecked just about everything except the OS and Photobooth. I have iLife '06 installed on my machine and didn't want it to install iLife '05. All is well and was worth the little effort.

When using the 'Software Update' afterward, I did NOT update to 10.4.7...assuming that I'd screw up my Photobooth again :o) So, we'll wait and see what Apple comes up with before I do that again. All other updates completed successfully.

    Good luck!
