Currently Being ModeratedSep 16, 2006 8:31 AM (in response to CosmicMac)Available hard disk space shown by finder is wrong. This happened to me twice. Both times occurred when the finder crashed while using the built-in iSight on my 17" MacBook Pro. The finder should show about 47 gig available, but instead show 17 gig.
Somehow I solved the problem the first time by inserting the install DVD and going through the first part of the installation process, but stopping before installing anything.
The second time I have not been able to solve the problem.

Currently Being ModeratedSep 16, 2006 12:32 PM (in response to CosmicMac)I'm having a similar issue. I recently bought an Infrant ReadyNAS NV and loaded it with four 320 GB disks. I'm accessing the resulting 874 GB volume on my Mac through SMB/CIFS.
Finder says I have 2.5 GB free, 871.11 GB used, which is wrong. Terminal (using df) says I have 672 GB free, 202 GB used, which is correct. The Finder refuses to copy files to the share because of this, but copying them with cp from the Terminal works fine.
Does the Finder have limitations on network share volume size?PowerMac G5 (rev. B, dual 2.0), Mac OS X (10.4.7)
