Hi harishankartk,

I understand that your iPhone 8 camera flash isn't working in cold weather, and I'm happy to provide some help.

I recommend reviewing the information provided for this in the following article:

Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures - Apple Support

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Cheers!

Last night I went to Kielder Observatory, Northumberland UK, to see the stars/super moon, and I thought i'd be able to take some stunning photos on my iPhone, however to my disappointment my iPhone 8 plus' (256GB) camera flash did not work whilst I was outside. The temperature was 2.5C and we were only at an altitude on 400m, both of which are inside apples recommended ranges, so why doesn't my camera flash work? How do you stop this from happening? This is not what I expect from a 950 GBP apple device, very disappointing.

I have the same problem. Does anybody now if it's hardware or software issue?

I can't believe Apple doesn't acknowledge this problem at all. They just send us link with acceptable operating temepratures for iphone to work fine, and that's all. But clearly that is not the problem here, since people have these problems when using their phones in temperatures above 0 celsius, and slightly below 0 celsius.
