i purchased an apple DVI to Video (RCA)/S-Video adapter for my old power mac G5 so that i could use my television as a second monitor for editing in final cut and for watching recorded TV. it worked perfectly. Now that i have a mac pro, the same adapter will not output video through the rca or s-video port of the adapter. all that shows up is the desktop monitor, no matter which DVI ports i plug them into. i've got the NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT. anyone know why the adapter isn't working anymore? thank you.

it should be working. the only reason it wouldnt is if nvidia dropped support for analogue displays in that card (which means not all the pins would be connected up). have you tried plugging everything in, turning the tv on and then rebooting? ive sometimes had to restart in order to get osx to properly recognise my tv.

The 7300GT does not support video.

Only the Radeon X1900 supports it on the Mac Pro.
