I have been battling this issue for a couple of weeks now and here is what I have:

Completely clean install of Tiger 10.4.7, then install Cisco VPN client 4.9.01 (0030), then install Chicken of the VNC. Setup VPN connection to client and tested:
- Successfully established connection

- Successfully connected to AFP share on remote server

- Successfully connect and control server via VNC

Then install 10.4.8 update (note: I have tried both Combo update and smaller update) and try tests again:
- Successfully established connection

- Failed to connect to AFP Share on remote server - AFP locks up. Log file shows:
Oct 27 16:05:01 my-computer kernel[0]: AFP_VFS afpfs_Reconnect: doing reconnect on /Volumes/ADVSERV
Oct 27 16:05:01 my-computer kernel[0]: AFP_VFS afpfs_Reconnect: connect to the server /Volumes/ADVSERV

Oct 27 16:05:01 my-computer KernelEventAgent[59]: tid 00000000 received VQ_NOTRESP event (1)
Oct 27 16:06:02 my-computer kernel[0]: AFP_VFS afpfs_Reconnect: doing reconnect on /Volumes/ADVSERV

Oct 27 16:06:03 my-computer KernelEventAgent[59]: tid 00000000 received VQ_NOTRESP event (1)

- Successfully connect via VNC but remote server screen is black.

I have verified disk, repaired permissions, performed a clean uninstall of VPN client and reinstall, tried to back-rev Appleshare folder under Filesystems to the 10.4.7 version and nothing fixes the issue?!?!?

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated!

tia,
Bill
