If you do a search for uneven illumination you will find that many people (including myself) had this problem. I had my computer "repaired" by apple a couple of times but the issue was never really addressed. I know that some people who pushed really hard eventually got new laptops. I have a feeling that the problem ha to do with the heat vents being directly under the LCD. Heat seems to affect the LCD.
The best thing to do is to go to an apple store and speak to a genius. Make sure you set up the computer before hand so the problem is real obvious.
Show him my site as well...

I had a look at your website the uneven illumintaion is much server than mine. I actually notice one spot now i think there is another one.
Could you advise what kind of action can i demand from them? I am in Singapore and does that mean they are going to take away my laptop for 6 weeks or so?
Thanks you.Mac Book Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.8)
