I was trying to follow the instructions at
http://www.11mystics.com/

The problem shows up when I go to access

/Applications/iWeb.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Templates/White About Me.webtemplate/index.xml.gz

I open index.xml.gz to get index.xml when I run it what comes up is the game Big Bang 4 in a Row.

What is going on? Have I got a virus already?

for modifying my template

do not double click on it!

you need to right click and open it in TextEdit or Word or so!

do it with TextEdit. thats the best thing!!!!!!

Unlikely that you got a virus, it's probable file extension association.
You can change this setting by:
    1) selecting index.xml file
    2) get info Command (Apple) + i
    3) expand Open with: pane, click on the triangle. If it isn't open already.
    4) click on the popup button and select text editor of your choice (or TextEdit)
    5) click Change All.. button, it'll prompt you for confirmation.
