please help me with this problem because i need this laptop to work so that I don't have to let my younger annoying brother use(but really destroy) my iBook.

    apr34,

"problem is when you turn it on you see the pointer and sometimes but very rarley you see the floppy disk with the blinking question mark"

The last laptop I was asked to fix would not show the startup folder with the question mark. Turns out they had the screen brightness turned up so high that they could not see the startup screen. Adjust your brightness control and see if the screen shows what is happening.

If you see the question mark, that means that the computer cannot find a startup disk. If you do not have a startup floppy or CD, you will need to buy one or make one. What do you have to work with?
