Having exactly the same problem here on my G5 iMac - when it gets to the flashing rapidly point - the light goes out - the weird thing is, it still recognizes the mouse-click, so it seems partially working, but I definitely think 10.4.9 broke something.
(My other computer (G4 iMac) is having problems with the wireless keyboard - it disconnects every minute or so when I'm typing) - completee pain - haven't found any solid tricks that keep it stable as yet....)
This is not a 10.4.9 thing, as I am experiencing the same with 10.3.9 after replacing batteries and dealing with a keyboard problem. I'm inclined to agree with the post above recommending the paper, as it seems like this is more of a mechanical issue than software (the thin metal strip on the inside of the battery cover came loose when I changed the batteries, so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it).
I'm planning to stop by the Apple Store, so maybe a Genius can figure it out
Hi pgmann, and others encoutering problems with the wireless mouse battery change over etc.
I am having the same problem today. The computer re-accepts the mouse ok, but the tracking is gone, it does click ok. after a minute or so I try to re-connect with the mouse and it is appearing as lost connection? Is it a maffunction inside the mouse? I tried paper, but no luck with it. What else can I do....what options? Must I buy cable mouse now?
