I can get the CD to open, but I can't get the keyboard to work. I'm using an extended apple keyboard, and the eject button isn't working...
This is on a G4 Mirror. Very, very frustrating

Thanks

If it's a hardware problem, you'll more likely to get an answer by reposting the question the the MacBook forums here:

some people reported that, after one of the security updates, they had to hold the eject key longer--up to a full second--to get it to activate. However, that would not explain the disk not mounting.

If the problem is on a MDD as you seem to indicate, then make certain the drive is on the EIDE bus and set for cable select. The eject key will not work if it is on the ATA66 or ATA100 Bus nor if set for other than cable select.

Have you tried pressing and holding the eject key? I believe there was a recent change that required a longer pressing of this key to open the drive doors. Look at System Profiler to see if the drive is present on the ATA Bus.
