Apple support informed me that the reason my iCal is not syncing with my iPod is because of a corrupt file. With a new Administrator account, everything is fine. They would not even guess which file is corrupt, so I have no clue which one it could be.

So, I am left likely having to use this new Admin account, but obviously don't want to go through reinstalling all my apps, settings, etc. again. I have read several threads about this, but wonder if there is not still another option to ease my pain.

Thanks for any help,
Kboard6

iCal not syncing with your iPod may be because of other reasons too.

Open the iSync application found in your /Applications folder. Go to iSync menu --> Preferences and locate the button to Reset Sync History... This will essentially make your Mac think it has never synced before and you'll need to allow items to resync as if for the first time. Keep in mind that this affects everything that syncs calendar, contacts, bookmarks, etc.

    Hope this helps!

I didn't think iSync had anything to do with this. Contacts/Calendar are synced through iTunes when it comes to an iPod. That changed a while back.

I'm not an iTunes expert, but in general all things sync through the "truth" database rather than with each other. Have a look at this for more information <http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2006/09/05/synching.html>.

    Hope this helps!
