Seriously, guys, give this a try. I've done it (as well as resetting the SMC) and so far no more restarting.MacBook, Mac OS X (10.4.10), iPod Shuffle, iPod Mini (4 GB), Mighty Mouse, Aiport Extreme (PC+Mac)

I believe has nailed the issue on the head. This happens to me when I close the lid and take it off my lap within the next 10-15 seconds. When it's on a desk, it never happens.MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I just used that link to fix my problem, you rock. My macbook
would freeze after closing the lid, while the computer was on.
When I opened it back up the screen would be black and it would
be frozen. I would need to power it off, then on, to get it back up.
