A one year warranty is standard with the iPhone and you can purchase an AppleCare extended warranty for the iPhone which is extends the standard warranty by another year - the extended warranty can be purchased anytime before the standard one year warranty expires.
AT&T does not offer insurance for the iPhone through their 3rd party carrier used for this but this can be covered by your homeowners or renters insurance. PowerBook G4 17-inch/1.67GHz/2GB RAM, Mac OS X (10.5), 7200rpm-100GB HD, iPod w/Video 30GB, iPhone 8GB
