Email app bug : cannot have more than one IMAP account

Has anyone seen this issue:

I have two gmail accounts and I want to setup both of them to use IMAP. HOWEVER...

I can create one account via IMAP and everything works just fine, but when I create the second account on the phone it OVERWRITES the entire config/setup of the first account and I end up with two duplicate accounts. I can never add a second IMAP account. If I try to edit the settings of one of the accounts to be that of the my other gmail account IT then in turn comopletely overwrites the setup of the other account as well... so no matter what I have the same account setup twice.

This is very annoying (obviously). I can setup 1 account to use POP and the other IMAP (which is what I keep resorting back to) but who wants to use POP when there's IMAP?!?!
