OK, here's a new one.

I created a new playlist on my 16GB Touch tonight. It was a 25 song playlist, with all songs counts set to 0.

For some reason, when you hit shuffle, it keeps repeating the same song over and over. If you hit to skip to the next song, it'll take you to the next song. But if you try and play it, it won't go.

Anyone else find this?

I have a couple of issues with the iPod Touch.

    1) I have a smart playlist with the 25 most played songs in iTunes. When I sync the playlist and open it up on the iPod Touch, the playlist contains 25 random songs which are totakky different from the ones in my iTunes playlist.

    2) I have songs from Creed's Greatest Hits CD and from Queen's Greatest Hits CD. When I look for songs by artists, by songs, or by playlists I find them with no problem. But, when I look for them in Cover Flow it puts the Queen's songs under the Creed's album cover. The odd thing is that when one of those Queen's songs is playing, the cover art displayed is the correct one... and on the top it reads:

    Queen
    "Name of song"
    Greatest Hits

But if I flip the iPod to see cover flow, it'll change the cover art to Creed's cover art.

It's had that bug since I bought it... and after today's update it's still there.

For some reason I think I have this issue in coverflow mode on my mac, it had something to do with me getting my individual album art instead of getting it through the apple automatic thing

...just curious if you used itunes to rip the mp3 initially, I know that some of my music was converted with a different program which might not have the tags that coverflow looks for. Also try going into the part that lets you edit the names etc and see if there is anything that looks funky or at least similar between the two albums.

I checked to see if I had the same cover flow issue in my Mac but I don't. iTunes displays the correct cover art for both albums.

ok...the only other thing I can think of is to delete those off of the touch and then resync....I was just trying to eliminate the other possibilities, I'll have my touch on monday and so I will look for this issue on mine too

All the songs were ripped to AAC using iTunes. I checked the info pane for all the affected songs and the only similarity is that both albums have identical names.

I removed them from the Touch by unchecking the songs in iTunes and syncing... then rechecked the songs and synced them back in... same bug.

Also, when I ran the iPod Update this afternoon, iTunes performed a restore on my iPod and then synced everything back.

I've had the same problem with the smart playlist syncing to my touch. The playlist on my computer has my top 200 most played songs. When I attach the iPod touch, I can browse the playlist as it exists on the iPod and see all the songs I see on the version of the playlist on my computer. But when I remove the iPod from the computer and look at the playlist on the iPod, I see a totally different set of songs. I had to totally wipe all the music off the iPod and resync to fix the problem. Not sure what caused it or how to prevent it.

just to add my voice... I've also had a small issue with the playlist feature. I haven't tried the smart playlist yet, but standard playlists have an issue when they're set to shuffle. eg. I have a playlist with 59 songs. When I activate shuffle the count now says 54. I actually went through the list one-by-one to determine which ones were active, for the 5 remaining I couldn't see any commonality that might make them not appear (like missing album or artist or genre info).

Best thing is to report the bug to Apple, which I did for my issue.

Just follow the "Contact Us" link that's on the footer of every Apple web site and then go to product feedback.

The bug I have with my smart playlist and iPod touch is that it plays opposite what the parameters are intended. For example, I created a top 25 Most Played smart playlist on iTunes, but my Touch chose 25 completely random songs that I currently have NO play count for. Then, out of curiosity, I made a Top 25 Least Played smart playlist on iTunes and noticed it had displayed 25 of my MOST played songs on my iPod Touch, all in correct order. I haven't made any other type of smart playlists, but from reading other peoples' problems, it seems to be a bit more complicated than just mixed values in the programming of the smart playlists in the iPod Touch.
