I got my new 80 gig a few days ago, and thought I had it registered, but every time I plug it into the computer it tells me to register it again. Went to the registration thing on apple.com and it told me it would send me a confirmation e-mail, but the e-mail hasn't come.

Am I allowed to send it to a different adress, and if so would I still be able to use my itunes through the first e-mail adress I used? Or is there a support number I can call to register over the phone?

    My new Classic 160GB has the same problem. I have looked 6 or 7 pages into this forum and haven't found any other complaints. I've been re-registering my iPod every time I connect it to iTunes.

    this has also been happening with the ipod touch, as of now there is no solution.

    in the meantime, unless you know your ipod has been reigstered, make sure you click register later!

    I am having this problem too. I read another post where someone else was having a similar problem but they were using a PC. I'm having this problem and I'm on a mac OS 10. Are there any other mac users that had this problem and resolved it? If so, HELP!!!

    I had this problem, too, on my brand new 80 GB iPod Classic until I restored it to its original settings. I did this by clicking on [Restore] button on the main device summary screen that appears when I plug in my iPod. Doing so erased all the files on my iPod but then it immediately re-sync'd with iTunes as soon as it finished the process. Hopefully by the time iTunes wants to schedule a new update to my iPod files, this glitch will be fixed.

    I've been having the same issue both with a new 80Gb iPod Classic combined with my iMac, and an iPod Touch 16Gb connected to a PC Laptop. Does anyone have a clue why this is happening?

    It appears to be a bug with iTunes version 7.5. I clicked on "never register" when that appeared and now don't see the registration screen when I connect the iPod.

    Other than that, we must await a fix.

    I bought a new ipod classic 80GB too last week to replace my 3G model. I'm loving the new features but I'm also having the same problem with multiple registrations. Thanks for the tip regarding manual registration, I'm going to give that a try now as the constant inputting of the same details is melting my head!!!!

    Me too. I bought a new 160 last week and have registered 10 times so far. My prior 80 doesn't have any proble.

    I have this issue too. I bought a new Macbook Pro and Ipod Classic (80Gb) and every time I sync my ipod I get this message.

    Just click *Never register* if it keeps coming up. As far as I know the only thing I did differently between my 160gb which didn't do this and my daughter's 80gb which did was that I hooked the 80gb unit up to iTunes as soon as it came out of the box rather than customising the menus first as I had done with the 160gb classic. Probably irrelevant....

    yeah i'm guessing this is just a bug or something with itunes. it seems everyone is getting the same registering page everytime they plug in their new ipod. if anyone does have any clue to the problem, it would be much appreciated if you could tell us.

    Same problem registering my second 160Gb iPod.
    First one had NO problems nor any of the 80Gb or 30Gb ones.
    So this is a new problem probably with the latest iTunes software.
    I registered with Aplle on their website not using iTunes.
    That worked in that it told me the product was registered.
    However, iTunes still didn't recognize it so the problem is still there...

    Sounds like Apple need to make their software more robust.
    Whoever says this is ready for primetime needs a talking to.

    Other issues I also see....
    ITunes Plus no longer confirms my library is up to date...at least for the last week.
    Complete my album gone from the quick links....
    I get the feeling every time I use iTunes it behaves differently....it get more like windows every day!
