I continue to get the above system error as DVD Player crashes the system and forces me to quit. I was wondering if anyone had encountered the same and if there was a fix.

Thank you.

I get the same Error on my new iMac when trying to play an original dvd.

The sound menu opens but as soon as I click a menu item I get a warning: error-69902

What I find funny, is that if I start Front Row, the dvd plays perfectly!!!

Does Anyone know how to fix this? ( I love my music dvd's playing in a small window while I work on my computer)

    Thanx

I also get error message 69902 when I try to click on any menu items or on any of the controls. When I open Front Row, as you suggest, I can play the DVD using keyboard controls, but I have no mouse function. Is that normal?

Exactly same errors. DiskWarrior doesn't help, repair permissions neither. This problem appears not on all DVDs, but DVDs with this error work fine on others DVD PLayer or VLC.

    Doesn't work neither on FrontRow.

Interesting that you mentioned VLC Media Player. I came across that program in trying to figure out what was going on with my DVD Player and downloaded it. The DVD in question--a movie out-of-the-box from Amazon--plays fine on VLC. It also plays on my G4 and on my TV DVD player. Strange to have an 8 month old MacBookPro with THE state-of-the-art operating system (or so I'm told in TV ads) and not be able to play a stock DVD.

I am getting this error as well. DVD player says "skipping damaged section," then gives me error -69902 when I try to skip forward on the DVD. The DVD is brand new and not damaged. Then, when I get to the menu, I can't play the DVD. I try to press any buttons (play, skip forward, pause, stop, and DVD player says "Supported Disc Not Available." I then can't quit DVD player, or eject the DVD; I have to force quit. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Creo que ya encontré donde esta la falla , en las preferencias del dvd player, configuración del disco, desactivar los enlaces web y listo ya funciona perfectamente

I deleted the .plist file, the DVD folder in Application support and still does not work. In any computer, Powerbook G$, PowerMac G5 or Powermac G4 (Running Leopard) The other 22 computers (G5 desktps) running Tiger have no problem. Can you be a little more specific anbou hiow you fixed. What you meant by enlaces web. Entiendo "castellano" perfectamente si prefieres escribir en español. Gracias

Could it be the problem of the DVD Player? I've tried VLC Media to play the same DVD without problem. This could be an alternative if your need to play DVD now.

I also found that VLC would play the same DVD that DVD Player had trouble with. The problem is that VLC sometimes screws up on menus and setting like language and subtitles, so it doesn't always work for me.

Me too. My iMac Aluminum will not play my home made and burned DVDs on their own (i.e., when inserted, which sometimes takes a few tries, they will not open the DVD player and allow me to play the disk), but they do work when I use Front Row as mentioned a few times in this thread.
