I have an att email domain/account. I have set it up on the Apple mail with their pop protocols, etc. etc. When I click "get mail", nothing happens. If I access my email account via a web browser, I can see all my emails. Apple Mail just doesn't "download" them on to my macbook. However-I can send emails via the Mail application with no problem. My daughter has an att email address and--go figure--she can send and receive via the Mail application. Ideas?

Open the 'Connection Doctor' and 'Activity Viewer' windows - that should give you a clue where to look for a solution.

Take a look in your Mail -> preferences -> accounts -> advanced

See if there is a checkmark by "use SSL"....

Uncheck the box and see if that works for you...

I am having this same problem. It occurred to me that I haven't received a new email since Nov. 15th, so I logged into yahoo via firefox and I had a bunch of emails. What's weird is that Mail is tagging mails as being read, but not importing them. When I go to my mail account on yahoo, it shows all kinds of mails that are 'new' as having been read already.

What's important to note here is that I've never had a problem with mail, until November 15th. Which just so happens to be the day that 10.5.1 was released.
