Q: Wallstreet wont boot up after installing 10.2 and fully updating.
I have a wallstreet G3 266Mhz with 192MB of memory, original 2 GB HD.
I installed 10.2.4 and updated it with everything but the ipod software. After updating everything I rebooted with the 10.2 install disk and performed a 'repair permissions' and 'repair disk' from disk utility.
Now when i try to reboot all i get is the little floppy disk with a question mark. I tried to find a 'choose startup disk' option on the install disk but couldn't find it (screen has no backlight when booting from the install disk).
So i booted from an OS 8.6 install disk and tried to set the startup disk from there. No go.
I did a reset by pressing shift-fn-ctrl-POWER. No go.
Started up while pressing option. No go.
Any sugestions?
As well im thinking of replacing the PRAM battery (which is definitely dead) with a half dead ipod battery. What are the chances that A: it will work? B: it will catch fire?
They are both Li-Ion and 3.7 V but im not sure about the charge/discharge characteristics.
Thanks for any input.
