Hey forum
I've had Leopard sitting in my desk drawer for quite a few weeks now just waiting to upgrade. I adamantly monitored the forums to see people's experiences with Logic on Leopard and was sad to see that it didn't seem to function so well.

How is Logic functioning within Leopard since the 8.0.1 upgrade? Have the issues that everyone was complaining about been solved?

An even better question: Is it SAFE to upgrade to Leopard yet? Does Logic run as efficiently in Leopard since the 8.0.1 upgrade as it does in Tiger? Thanks to anyone who could provide some insight. Definitely wanting to upgrade to Leopard, but I'll wait if Logic still runs better in Tiger.

iMac Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, Mac OS X (10.4.11), 1 GB RAM

Just wanting to move this back up to the top so hopefully someone that knows will see it - then again it is Christmas. Merry Christmas forum.

I just got Logic 8 for Christmas and I am not installing Leopard on my G5 until I know if everything runs ok within it. As I understand Logic 8 does not run well within Leopard. I find this bad as both are Apple products.

That makes two of us. . . and probably many more.

Just a word of caution - Logic 8 also doesn't run so well on g5's apparently. That's the word on the street at least. Hope this isn't true for you. Apparently 8.0.1 fixed that some, so make sure to install that ASAP.

But yeah, if anyone has any word on improvements that make running Logic in Leopard as good as running it in Tiger, please post. Merry Christmas peoples.

I've been running Logic 8 on Leopard on my MPB for over a month now. Opened and worked on many sessions from my old Tiger system - no problems. New sessions - no problems. The 10.5.1 update seems to have cleared up some system issues I was having (mostly just irritations, not show-stoppers), and now everything runs very smoothly. 8.0.1 update for Logic seems to be very stable - I've got no complaints with the Logic/Leopard combo.

I've read some horror stories on this forum and others regarding Logic 8/Leopard, but I guess I'm one of the lucky ones...?

Last night I heard wild clickity-clacks coming from my MBP and this morning I found a couple of white beard hairs on my keyboard (I hope they were beard hairs), so I'm hoping Santa either installed some sweet new plugin, or finished this last mix I've been working on. Either way I've been afraid to look....

Merry Christmas to all you Logic-heads out there!

8.0.1 running great on PPC Dual 2.5GHz G5. I did uncheck the low latency option and also am now running 8GB of Ram. So far i am very pleased to have switched from Digital Performer 5 - Logic has great integration with my Tascam FW1884 control surface and the M Audio keystation pro 88. Just wish it had the same for my Korg Padkontrol.

Logic 8 and 8.0.1 runs fine on my G5.... I had some bugs on upgrade from L7, but I made a clan installation and all is fine.
On leopard L8 is fine too..
