can I configure the airport extreme 11n as an access point?

Here's the situation, I got one airport extreme 11n as a christmas gift while I purchased one for myself not to long ago. Now my place is pretty big so I'm thinking about making the second extreme an access point for another area of the house. Can i do that with the extreme? Does anyone know where i can find the instructions ?

Yes.

If you are connecting the 2 AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) via Ethernet, configure the new AEBS to operate in "bridge" mode. Have it create a wireless network with the same parameters as the network created by the first AEBS.

If you want it to do it wirelessly that is also possible.
  • If you are using 802.11n only mode, you can use the new "extend a wireless network" feature to connect the 2 AEBS.
  • If you are using a 802.11b/g compatible mode, you need to use WDS to connect the 2 AEBS.

What if i wanted to us the extreme 11n to add wireless to a non wireless lan network.

Basically plug the extreme 11n into the non wireless linksys via a network cable and have a make shift wireless network.

have the extreme 11n act as an access point providing wireless connection to the wired lan.

would this be possible
