I was wondering that too.
As soon as Steve Jobs mentioned the MacBook Air SuperDrive, all of 18 seconds worth, I saw the eventual upgrade to a "MacBook Blu-ray SuperDrive" that will work with the Apple TV... then the third generation that will be the "MacBook Blu-ray Airport Extreme SuperDrive Capsule" ... it will deliver content directly to the iPhone, iWall, iCar and any WiFi enabled thing we can think of... oh the imagination could go wild.
For now, the description states only MacBook Air.PowerBook G4 15 inch, Mac OS X (10.4.11), MacBook Pro Soon

There are things posted daily here that seem entirely feasible and useful such as connecting a keyboard to AppleTV USB to enter text into YouTube search - there seems to be no reason why this couldn't be done, but AppleTV doesn't allow it now and might never do.
Buy an AppleTV (or not) based on what it is known to do now rather than on speculation of what it could be able to do if only Apple did this/that, added a function/feature etc etc....iMac Core 2 Duo 20", Mac OS X (10.4.11), Intel Macbook, iPhone, old Risc OS and Windows boxes!

ThomasiMac 20" Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.4.7), 2 GB RAM - otherwise standard
Currently Being ModeratedJan 18, 2008 5:03 AM (in response to tomaz_dk)seeing as the superdrive will only work on the macbook air (ie it won't even work on a macbook pro), i doubt it will do anything on an tv, besides the tv doesn't have any dvd playback software anyway.
