Hey guys,

I have a M- Audio Ozone keyboard/audio interface...

it has worked beautifully for me since ive had my mac and Logic 7... as soon as i install Leopard and Logic 8, it doesnt work... I then go to the M-Audio website to try and get new drivers and read this:

M-Audio Welcomes Arrival of Mac OS X Leopard
M-Audio works closely with Apple to ensure future support of new operating system

M-Audio has a history of quickly bringing the benefits of significant new advancements in computer technology to the pro audio community—from the advent of USB and FireWire to the release of Mac OS X. We are working closely with Apple to ensure that our products and technologies will support Mac OS X Leopard.

Due to the nature of software and driver development, we are not able to provide exact dates for when specific drivers will become available—but please rest assured that supporting Leopard is a top priority for us. As soon as Leopard drivers or updates for any product become available, our Web site will be immediately updated to reflect this.

If you choose to install Leopard on your system before your M-Audio product has been qualified for use with the new OS, please be aware that your M-Audio device may not function properly. Please continue to check M-Audio.com for updates.

Do they not value their customers and realise that customers who are likely to upgrade their software will still need to use their products?

I mean come on, its been nearly a month now!? sort it out! anyone got any more updates?

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.1), 2GB RAM

It seems quite clear. They're working on it. M-Audio has a reputation of having drivers that are sometimes not rock solid when it comes to their I/O products, but their keyboards etc. seem good and a great value. Having said that, several developers and software companies with whom I have contact have all said that they didn't get preview copies very early, and in some cases the release version of 10.5 had differences from version from a little as a few weeks earlier, so they were caught on the hop.

<rant alert> When a new major release of software appears, it seems crazy to me that anyone would blithely install it, without checking first that all the drivers and versions of their software have been updated and are available; cleared to run with the latest OS. This forum is full of threads complaining that their XYZ has stopped working after an upgrade - Doesn't anyone check first? Jeez… </rant alert>

At the very least, install a new OS on a separate drive and test it first, and only when everything works, upgrade to the new OS for your main drive.

I have Leopard and am playing with it, but I don't plan on using it full-time for another couple of months yet, and one or two more maintenance updates.

I resolved my problem with Leopard and the M-Audio Ozone. After I installed the driver for the Ozone and uninstalled and manually uninstalled and reinstalled, it still didn't work. I was searching the web and had almost resigned myself to a long wait... Then I went to the M-Audio website and started browsing their drivers and the dates they were posted. There is one called "MIDIUSB_OSX3.2.3.dmg" that was posted in late Dec. 2007. It is not the driver for the Ozone, it is a USB driver for another product. Anyway, I downloaded that one and installed it AFTER I had installed the Ozone driver. The Ozone now works fine. Hope this helps.

JakeinItaly, I'm CodeyinBoulder and you've just solved a huge problem for me and many other's I'm sure! I'll spread the word, as I've heard so many people who are held back by M-Audio's lack of news on a driver release.

I wonder if M-Audio even knows it works?

Thank you! I dug out my Ozone yesterday for the first time in a while to do some tracks with a friend, only to find it didn't work, and I'd figured the culprit was my recent upgrade to Leopard. Thanks for your persistence - it certainly saved my sanity. BBM
