Currently Being ModeratedJan 23, 2008 1:41 AM (in response to Concupiscence)Hi Concupiscence. Can I write you an Email? If you write me your address, I have some question to ask you. I've found the reply you post to me very interesting. Do you have the right Apple address in Ireland or in France?
And have you a link you used for the court? Thanks and regards. Luca

Currently Being ModeratedJan 25, 2008 4:30 AM (in response to HotRide)Ring Apple support. I bet you are using an eplus sim card, are you? Mine doesn't work with E-netz, but works with vodafone and T-Mobile. This is either a bug in firmware 1.1.3 or a "feature" that makes the T-Mobile contract more palatable.PowerBook
Currently Being ModeratedJan 25, 2008 4:47 AM (in response to fredz85)Yes, and no. It seems a bit erratic. There seem to have been changes to the way iTunes activates since the introduction of 1.1.3. I can now swap D1 and D2 (T-Mobile and Vodafone) sim cards and the phone remains activated. It also remains activated with eplus cards but get no signal. Before, if I activated with eplus I couldn't use a T-mobile card unless I did a complete restore.PowerBook

Currently Being ModeratedJan 27, 2008 5:17 AM (in response to HotRide)Same problem here : I have to do a complete restore with iTunes every time I switch SIM card in the iPhone ! (Orange France iPhone, officialy desimlocked, updated with 1.1.3). I hope this is a bug with 1.1.3 and not the way Apple sees an unlocked phone ...
Currently Being ModeratedJan 29, 2008 8:52 AM (in response to HotRide)This solution is just a workaround, but it works if your ICCID (Prefs->General-Info) starts with 8949.
Try to get a (german) O2 card from somewhere, and do the full Restore process with it. You should get an O2 carrier then. Also restore your backup. Now the E-Plus card should work. Both cards ICCID's shoult start with 8949.
Possible Cause: It seems as if the iPhone gets locked on the first 4 digits with an activation. As the EPlus ICCID is 2 digits shorter than T-Mobile, the iTunes activation does not seem to be able to lock the iPhone to the first 4 numbers. With the O2 it works (O2 ICCID is just 1 digit shorter).
Thanks to the phone support this could be solved!
Currently Being ModeratedFeb 3, 2008 8:22 AM (in response to Bernhard Fuchs)I managed to get my iPhone with 1.1.3 working with eplus following these steps:
1. Turn off iPhone
2. Insert O2 sim (I used a UK sim rather than a German one, and it worked)
3. Press home button and keep pressed while connecting to your mac/pc
4. When the iTunes message to restore comes up let go of the home button and perform the restore.
5. After the restore was done I had to disconnect the iPhone and reconnect a couple of times before it activated.
6. When you get O2 reception switch off and change to your beloved eplus sim card.
7. Connect the iPhone to the computer again and restore from iPhone back/synchronize, etc.
You might have to reenter the eplus GPRS settings into your phone:
Settings > General > Network > EDGE
